MicFlash Privacy Policy

MicFlash Download Capture is a browser extension that connects supported Chromium browsers with the MicFlash macOS download manager.

What the extension does

The extension helps users send downloadable links, video pages, audio sources, playlists, and magnet links from the browser to the MicFlash app installed on their Mac.

Data the extension may access

To provide its features, the extension may access:

• The current page URL, so MicFlash can identify downloadable content.
• Page content related to downloads, video, audio, playlists, and magnet links.
• Browser download activity, so supported downloads can be sent to the MicFlash app.
• Cookies for the current site when needed to resolve supported media downloads that require the user's active website session.
• Extension settings saved locally in the browser.

How data is used

The data is used only to make the extension and the MicFlash macOS app work together. For example, the extension may send a video page URL or media information to the local MicFlash app running on the user's Mac.

MicFlash does not sell user data.

MicFlash does not use user data for advertising, credit checks, lending, or unrelated tracking.

MicFlash does not transfer user data to third parties except when required to perform the user's requested download action.

Local app communication

The extension communicates with the MicFlash macOS app through a local connection on the user's computer. This local connection is used to send download information from the browser to the app.

Remote code

The extension does not load or execute remote code. All extension scripts are packaged with the extension.

Data storage

Extension settings are stored locally in the browser. The MicFlash app may store download history and user preferences locally on the user's Mac.

User control

Users can remove the extension from their browser at any time. Users can also remove the MicFlash app and its local data from their Mac.
